Classes for Teens to Adults • Hands-on Photography: Beginner to Intermediate

  • Prairie Fusion Arts & Entertainment 11- 2 Street Northeast Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 1R8 Canada (map)

ages 13 to adult • 2 hours per class

Beyond the basic knowledge of focus, exposure, and focal length, there is so much more to know about photography. What angle is best for portraits, and how do you light them? How do you get the best landscape photo? How do you photograph difficult subjects like lightening or fireworks? We’ll look at how programs like Photoshop and Lightroom can allow you to edit and optimize images. You’ll need a digital camera, either DSLR or mirrorless, that has manual settings.

with Leif Norman

Leif has shot photographs professionally for about ten years. He shoots festivals, events, dance, theatre, headshots, architecture — but no weddings. Five years ago, he founded Winnipeg’s photographic festival, FLASH, which will come back in April of 2020. He dabbles in historical photographic processes and has a collection of over 250 photographic books, which makes him so educated that he won’t stop talking and can’t tell when people are bored at parties.
