Matt Zaddy is a Mississauga‑born singer‑songwriter whose music blends folk‑rock, modern soul, rhythm & blues, Americana, and pop into a sound that is both contemporary and timeless. A storyteller with a deeply empathetic voice, Zaddy writes songs that explore love, loss, burnout, resilience, and the search for meaning, inviting audiences into an intimate and emotionally resonant experience.
Zaddy has become a standout figure in the Canadian independent music scene, sharing stages with celebrated artists such as K’Naan, Tom Cochrane, Jim Cuddy, The Trews, Cowboy Junkies, Francesco Yates, and Sam Roberts. His performances are marked by warmth, humour, and a genuine desire to connect—qualities that have earned him praise from critics and audiences alike.
His 2019 album Be established him as a rising voice in Canadian songwriting, and his 2023 single “What Comes Around” expanded his reach internationally, earning 162k+ YouTube views, 32k+ Spotify streams, placement on 500+ playlists, and radio play in 10 countries.
In 2024, Zaddy released “Far Too Long,” a raw and reflective track inspired by his own experience juggling a demanding day job with a full music schedule—working more than 80 hours a week until he hit a breaking point. Produced by Ross Citrullo and recorded live off the floor, the song captures the urgency and honesty that define Zaddy’s work.
Offstage, Zaddy is a committed community builder, working extensively in music education, cultural programming, and local arts advocacy. He has contributed to community concerts, youth mentorship, and arts‑driven outreach initiatives, helping strengthen Mississauga’s cultural landscape.
