Artist’s Statement
The sport of hockey has long been a meaningful part of my life. I practically grew up in a rink, watching my dad and brothers play. In recent years, you would find me cheering in the stands at my boys' hockey games, most often with a camera in hand. When I photograph hockey, I capture images that show the spirit of the sport, not just images of my own children. They show the community of volunteer coaches, families, and teammates, the excitement of competition, and the exhilaration of outdoor gameplay. These images celebrate hockey, a sport loved by so many Canadians. I capture images I love, and make them into inspirational prints. I am so happy to share them with others.
